Wednesday, ASCE Region 9 issued part of its California Report Card early to promote its grades for surface transportation infrastructure.
The D grade for roads, the C- grade for bridges, and the C- grade for transit, come just weeks before a November ballot proposition that would repeal a law that created funds for transportation system improvements through new fuel taxes and raised vehicle registration fees.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti took part in the release event in his city; another event was held in Berkeley.
