Mashal and Palermo Awarded Alfred Noble Prize

ASCE has honored the writing team of Mustafa Mashal, Ph.D., C.Eng, CP Eng, P.E., M.ASCE, and Alessandro Palermo, Ph.D., for the 2020 Alfred Noble Prize. Their paper, “Low-Damage Seismic Design for Accelerated Bridge Construction,” appeared in the July 2019 issue of Journal of Bridge Engineering. Mashal is Assistant Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Idaho State University. Palermo is Professor, Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury, in New Zealand.

JOINT SOCIETY AWARD: The Alfred Noble Prize recognizes a technical paper of exceptional merit accepted by the Committee on Publications of ASCE, AIME, ASME, IEEE or WSE.
