How to Rock Your LinkedIn Profile and Land a Job

Over 600 million professionals are on LinkedIn and the numbers just keep growing. Every second, two more profiles are made. Of that universe, there are 30 million companies and 20 million jobs active on the social networking site.

It seems like LinkedIn must be the place to build your professional network.

In this episode of the “ASCE Interchange,” Erica Pyatt, senior account executive at LinkedIn, discusses the benefits of having a LinkedIn profile as a young professional.

“Connect with friends, connect with people from internships, professors, other classmates, family, friends … that’s how you just start building your network,” said Pyatt. She believes the top three reasons that young professionals need LinkedIn profiles are to connect, get hired and stay informed.

Pyatt also gives viewers tips on how to make your profile stand out from the crowd. The two biggest attributes? Crafting the perfect headline and summary that tell employers about your story, experiences and aspirations.
