Cummings Earns Parcel-Sverdrup Award

ASCE has honored Matthew G. Cummings, P.E., M.ASCE, with the John L. Parcel–Leif J. Sverdrup Civil Engineering Management Award for his definitive contribution to the field of civil engineering management, evidenced by exemplary character, professional integrity and national reputation.

Cummings has more than 30 years of experience in the transportation industry in the United States and abroad. He is a leader who has demonstrated experience in the management, design and construction of major transportation projects. Through his leadership, AECOM has successfully completed complex transportation projects on major interstate corridors, involving unique engineering, environmental and public involvement challenges. Cummings displays strong leadership and management skills complemented by his extensive technical background to communicate with all stakeholders, including elected officials, agencies and the public.

Throughout his career, Cummings has continually contributed his knowledge and experience to the field of civil engineering management and gifted it into the lives of the employees he serves. He has displayed the highest professional integrity as well as the character of someone dedicated to a cause bigger than his own success, and he has achieved national standing among his peers.

The John L. Parcel–Leif J. Sverdrup Civil Engineering Management Award is given to a member of ASCE who has made a definite contribution in the form of written presentations or notable performance to the field of civil engineering management.
