ASCE has honored John Kissinger, P.E., S.E., M.ASCE, with the 2021 Edmund Friedman Professional Recognition Award for exemplary professional conduct and service in the field of civil engineering, delivering vital and enduring projects; for commitment to engineering education and helping young engineers from diverse backgrounds; and for outstanding community leadership and philanthropy.
ASCE has honored Catherine M. Martsolf, EIT, LEED AP BD+C, A.M.ASCE, with the 2021 Daniel W. Mead Prize for Younger Members for the paper “COVID-19: Redesigning Our Built Environment.”
ASCE has honored the California State University, Northridge ASCE Student Chapter with the Robert Ridgway Student Chapter Award, for excellence in the effective and meritorious conduct of its affairs as a Student Chapter of ASCE through the ability and professional diligence of the Chapter officers, members, and faculty advisors.
ASCE has honored Mario Di Paola, Ph.D., A.M.ASCE, as the 2021 winner of the Masanobu Shinozuka Medal for important and numerous contributions to stochastic systems dynamics with emphasis on analytical methods and emerging concepts, and multifaceted applications to civil engineering and other diverse themes, with superb pedagogical leadership and devotion.
ASCE has honored the writing team of Bharadwaj R.K. Mantha, Ph.D., A.M.ASCE; Carol C. Menassa, Ph.D., A.M.ASCE; Vineet R. Kamat, Ph.D., M.ASCE; and Clive R. D’Souza with the 2021 Collingwood Prize for the paper “Evaluation of Preference- and Constraint-Sensitive Path Planning for Assisted Navigation in Indoor Building Environments,” Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering, June 2020.
ASCE has honored Gregory A. Kopp, Ph.D., P.E., M.ASCE, with the 2021 Jack E. Cermak Medal for his many contributions in wind engineering through research and development of wind load standards of buildings and the NIST aerodynamic database.
