Region 6 Director Earns Fellow Status

Cline

Nancy Straub Cline, P.E., F.ASCE, a consultant whose experience includes over 15 years in municipal engineering and five years as an area engineer for TxDOT, has been named a Fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.

Cline is currently employed by Texas Central and is working on the high-speed train. Also, for the past 10 years, she has spent time in consulting engineering.

She has been active in ASCE since joining in 1983 as a student member and serving as treasurer of the Student Branch. She is currently the Region 6 Director, representing Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Mexico on the ASCE Board of Direction. Among the other highlights of her service are president of the Southeast Texas Branch in Beaumont (1994-1995), Committee on Licensure (2012-2014), president of the Texas Section (2007-2008), and Region 6 Governor (2011-2014). Cline also served on NCTCOG’s Surface Transportation Technical Committee from 2006 to 2013 and was chairman from 2012 to 2013.

Her previous ASCE awards include the Edmund Friedman Younger Engineer Award for Professional Achievement (National ASCE meeting 1995), the Texas Section ASCE Service to People Award (2006), and the Texas Section Award of Honor (2018).

Cline received a bachelor of science in civil engineering in 1984 and a master of engineering in civil engineering in 1986, both from Texas A&M University. She is a professional engineer and a certified floodplain manager.
