Priddy Elevated to Society Fellow

Lucy Priddy, P.E., F.ASCE, a military program officer at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, Mississippi, has been named a Fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.

Prior to taking on her current role, Priddy served as the assistant technical director at ERDC, where she helped with the planning, technical direction, financial management and execution of the Army research programs related to force projection, maneuver support and force protection. As a research civil engineer, she conducted research focused on expedient and traditional pavement repair, evaluation and construction technologies.

For ASCE, Priddy serves on the Transportation and Development Institute Board of Governors and has previously served as President of Vicksburg Branch, Secretary of the Mississippi Section and Representative for District 14. She is active on a number of ASCE’s technical committees and on the Transportation Research Board.

Priddy is the author of numerous technical articles, papers and reports, and served as liaison to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology in 2010-11.

She received the 2010 ASCE Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Award and the 2009 ASCE Mississippi Section Outstanding Young Member Award, and had the honor of representing the Society as their New Face in Engineering in 2005. She was awarded the University of Mississippi Young Alumni of the Year in 2013 and the Distinguished Civil Engineering Alumna in 2016. She has also been awarded several Department of the Army awards and medals for civilian service.

Since graduating, she has continued to be active in the University of Mississippi’s School of Engineering, both as a member of the Engineering Advisory Board from 2007 to 2019 and presently on the Civil Engineering Advisory Board.

Priddy graduated from the University of Mississippi with her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2002 and completed her master’s degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University in 2005. She completed her Ph.D. in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2014. She is a registered professional engineer in Mississippi.
