Three Honored With Wisely Award

ASCE has honored Sarah S. McEwen, P.E., M.ASCE; Mario Ricozzi, P.E., F.ASCE; and Camilla M. Saviz, Ph.D., P.E., ENV SP, F.ASCE, with the 2020 William H. Wisely American Civil Engineer Award.

McEwen is recognized for her commitment to saving the Mississippi River Basin Model, initiating and enlisting help to clean up the Model to use it as a tool to inspire excitement in children for civil engineering. She is a water resources manager at AECOM in Jackson, Mississippi.

Ricozzi is recognized for his dedication and steadfast leadership in overseeing revisions to the Society’s governing documents to enable flexibility, and his willingness to educate the membership on the proposed modifications. He works for the Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority.

Saviz is recognized for her boundless and infectious enthusiasm for anything related to civil engineering education, her dedicated leadership as Chair of the Committee on Education, and her contribution to the projects of other ASCE committees and entities. She is professor and Chair of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of the Pacific and a registered professional engineer in California.

The William H. Wisely American Civil Engineer Award recognizes individuals or groups of individuals who are members of ASCE and who have made continuing efforts to promote appreciation for the history, tradition, developments and technical and professional activities of the Society.
