Many ASCE members are making civil engineering history and heritage part of their vacation plans this summer.
In celebration of the Visit ASCE Landmarks campaign, Society members have been posting and tagging photos of their travels to various ASCE Historic Civil Engineering Landmarks. There are more than 200 to choose from.
Members have repped ASCE from Portland, Maine, to Portland, Oregon, with a lot of trips to Hoover Dam in between.
Jayne Marks, EIT, S.M.ASCE, a graduate student at Lehigh University, announced via Twitter her “mission to see them all,” and she’s already off to a good start.
Jonathan Brower, P.E., M.ASCE, a project engineer for L.A. Fuess Partners in Dallas, deserves special mention, as he – if he maintains his current pace – just might “see them all” before July is over.
And there’s still plenty of summer left.

Hoover Dam was one of the best places I’ve visited in USA. A place where you could stand in two places and two different time zones at one time. One of the most memorable trips I’ve had! #VisitASCELandmarks #ASCEMember A post shared by Tiffany Mandap Flores (@luckyme_tiffany) on
